Happy Sunday!! Let start with the winner of Andrea Stein’s book, Fortune’s Horizon. Congratulations to Eileen!
As you know, we were a marina in Red Hook for about a week. Before we left, this guy came to visit.
We also had a booby land on the dock.
We left the dock and anchored in Red Hook Harbor, but with the wake from the ferry boats, and a north swell, that didn’t last long. We are now in Secret Harbor.
When we leave here we’ll either go to Christmas Cove or the British Virgin Islands until our new dodger (windshield) is finished. We’re also getting new sunshades and cushions for the cockpit.
Book #8 in The Marriage Game has been sent to my editor. It still doesn’t have a name yet. But I did get the cover for Book #7, Lady Beresford’s Lover.
Blurb.
Ella Quinn’s bachelors are quite sure of what they want in life—and love—until the right woman opens their eyes…
After a painful heartbreak, Rupert, the handsome young Earl of Stanstead, has decided that when it comes to love, avoidance is best. Until he meets a woman who makes him forget his plan—and remember his longing for a wife and family. Yet he senses that she too has been hurt, though she attempts to hide her feelings—and more—in the most baffling and alluring way. Intrigued, Rupert is willing to play along, if winning her is the prize…
Crushed by her late husband’s scorn, Vivian, Countess of Beresford, believes she is monstrously undesirable. Sadly childless, she has moved to London resigned to a solitary life. Still, when she encounters Rupert at a masquerade ball, her disguise as Cleopatra emboldens her. Convinced he doesn’t recognize her, she begins an after-hours affair with him, always in costume—while allowing him to innocently court the real her by day. But when Rupert makes a shocking choice, will Vivian be able to handle the truth?…
So, what have you been doing this week?
Ella
It so happens I’ve been looking at pictures of birds (and insects), because I’m writing a story that takes place in the Lake District in England, and I’m looking up local wildlife. Ella, do you ever see Magnificent Frigatebirds in your area? I watched them soaring ages ago on a visit to Curacao. Such impressive birds.
We do have frigates. I see them more on the north side of the island than I do on the south side.
I read these just to see what you have to fix on the boat this week. It’s never ends. Note to self: No matter pretty the visuals, don’t live on a boat…you haven’t the tolerance for such stress.
You are a strong woman Ellen!
The book sounds interesting, but doesn’t that mean he’s cheating on her with her? That’s a sticky wicket.
LOL, Liza. I had someone tell me that even when everything is working properly, something is getting ready to break. But being on the boat is worth it.
Yes, as a matter of fact, he is cheating on her with her. And she doesn’t know that he knows Cleo is her.
Great pics of the birds. Love the blurb for LBL, and, as always, am mesmerized by the cover.
Thanks, Jen. I love the cover as well. I can’t wait to see what he has for book #8.
Ella, Glad to hear you are enjoying your travels!!! Sounds adventurous and intriguing!!! I love you various “visitors”!!! Lol!!! I have been busy taking care of my mom who is recovering from open heart surgery. She is doing well, thanks be to God!!! I also love the excerpt of ‘Lady Beresford’s Lover!!! Will have to add it to my library!!!
Take care!!
Lisa
Hi Lisa, I’m so glad to hear your mother is doing well. That has got to have been scary. We love our visitors as well. There is a large sea turtle around here, but I haven’t been able to get a picture of him yet.
I’m so glad you liked Lady Beresford’s blurb!
Yup, I still definitely love that cover! 😀
Me too, Ki Pha!
Sexy cover, the birds are cute. I’m glad you and your husband are enjoying yourselves.
Thank you!! I love that cover!
So glad to hear you are enjoying life aboard your boat 🙂
Thanks, Joanna!!
Thanks so much Ella for the opportunity to win! I love to meet new authors and their work (as you very well know!) I’ve birds of my own. Four pairs of canaries who are busy making me happier. They are laying eggs. I love their voices!
Congratulations to you, Eileen!! I love birds. They are so much fun.
