Thanks for following me and I am now following you. Who publishes your novels or are you self published?
Re. your comment that some of the sights you wished to use were not available, I don’t think that matters as long as you add an author’s note that you know the correct position but decided to use artistic licence for dramatic purposes.
I know what you mean about research. A critic said of one of my books,”You have obviously done a lot of research – and it shows!”
I am self published – four books and one in progress set in the late Roman era in southern Britannia and Italia, telling the story of my heroine, Bron. See my website.
I was in the process of working with a cover artist when I received an offer from agent Elizabeth Pomada, so I’m not published, yet. To me it’s more interesting to discover that the sights weren’t there or had been damaged by the war.
Hello – thanks for visiting A Writer of History. Glad to know that you liked some of my posts. Looks like we are both aspiring writers!
Mary, I did indeed like your posts. Yes, I have an agent and she’s received requests for submissions from 4 of the big 6 publishing houses, now I’m just waiting. Good to meet you.

Thank you, Denny!
I really enjoy reading your books, thank you for writing such lovable stories. Would you have any advice for an aspiring, unpublished author?
Hi Roxianne! Thank you so much!! My advice is to write the books you want to write and treat it like a profession. I was told it would take me 5 years to be traditionally published. I started writing in 2011 and my first book released in 2013. I also think that finishing the first book before I started a critique group was helpful.
I just LOVE your books, your humor, and conversational expertise. They are uniquely enjoyable. As an English teacher I do suggest you get a different editor however.Throughout the book your character Turley (Most Eligible Lord) is referred to alternately as Turner. Also Anglesey ( Most Eligible Lord) is miss spelled twice. It is very distracting and disturbing in an otherwise excellent novel. This poor editing is atrocious and detracts from your obvious talent. Invest in a new editor or ask your current one to be MUCH more careful. Your work deserves better.
I’m so glad you love the books!! Thank you for pointing out the errors. Unfortunately, I really don’t have a choice of editor. They all work for my publisher and are assigned by them. I did do a search concerning Turner and all the references are to the right person. However misspelling a characters name is something they usually catch. What was the alternate spelling?
