Good morning and Happy Sunday!!

Since Alana Lucas already announced her winner, let’s begin with the winner of Jacki Delecki’s book!! Congratulations to Julie Fetter!!

The book news is heating up! My editor contacted me last week with two pieces of news. First, they are getting ready to send me the ARC copies of Three Weeks to Wed. So, early next year you can expect to see posts about winning ARCs.

Three Weeks To Wed revise

In the first book of her dazzling new series, bestselling author Ella Quinn introduces the soon-to-be Earl and Countess of Worthington—lovers who have more in common than they yet know. The future promises to be far from boring…

Lady Grace Carpenter is ready to seize the day—or rather, the night—with the most compelling man she’s ever known. Marriage would mean losing guardianship of her beloved siblings, and surely no sane gentleman will take on seven children not his own. But if she can have one anonymous tryst with Mattheus, Earl of Worthington, Grace will be content to live out the rest of her life as a spinster.

Matt had almost given up hope of finding a wife who could engage his mind as well as his body. And now this sensual, intelligent woman is offering herself to him. What could be more perfect? Except that after one wanton night, the mysterious Grace refuses to have anything to do with him. Amid the distractions of the Season he must convince her, one delicious encounter at a time, that no obstacle—or family—is too much for a man who’s discovered his heart’s desire…

The second piece of news is that the cover for the second book in The Worthingtons, When a Marquis Chooses a Bride, has a final cover! The cover will be revealed in my December newsletter which will come out any day now.

I am also having a cat naming contest for the third book in the series in the news letter. If you haven’t already signed up you can do it here.

On to boat news. We have been on the move shuffling back and forth between St. Thomas and the British Virgin Islands. We have one more trip to St. Thomas, then Christmas in the BVI before we head to St. Martin.

I don’t have a blurb yet, but I can give you an excerpt of A Promise of Love!

April 1817, London

Lord Francis (Frank) Trevor glanced around the brilliantly lit ballroom wondering what the devil he was doing there. As the second son of the Duke of Somerset, one might suppose he would be used to the ton. And one would be mistaken. Other than the brief period of time he’d spent on the town during a university holiday, he had been acting as his father’s factor. A job that by rights belonged to his eldest brother Damon, Marquis of Hawksworth. His father’s heir.

Frank hadn’t even had a holiday from running the dukedom’s estates. He was chafing at running in his father’s harness. It was not in his nature to be constantly under another man’s boot. Lately, he had been searching for a way to change his life. He had also become a bit short tempered. Perhaps that was the reason that as soon as Father had departed for Scotland with a few of his cronies Mama had decided Frank could benefit from a touch of Town bronze. How the hell that was supposed to help him when he dealt mainly with crops and animals, he had no idea.

He might as well realize he was trapped in a life he did not want and had no hope of employment outside of slaving for his father. If he even attempted to find another position, the duke would ensure he never got it. And after Damon’s marriage to Meg Featherton at Christmas, their father had made very clear that in the future he would be making any necessary matches for his children.

Ergo, being here was a waste of time and money, though, thankfully, not his own.

A glass of wine was pressed into his hand. “Frank, you are supposed to be having fun.” His brother, Damon had the same a lazy smile on his face he’d worn since marrying Meg. “Not looking as if you’re facing a hanging.”

Frank took a long pull on the wine. “I am merely having trouble knowing where to start. How did you manage to talk father into this visit?”

“Ah, well.” Rather than answering his question, his brother scanned the crowd. “Your mother decided it was time you were introduced to some of the ladies. I believe she also felt you were due for a little time away from the estate.”

As if he would really be allowed to choose his own bride. “Did she happen to send you a list of ladies of whom father would approve?”

“Ah, no.”

Damon languidly raised his hand, and they were almost immediately joined by Meg, his wife of four months, and the young lady she had in tow.

On to boat news. We’re still sailing around the Virgin Islands, US and British. It looks as if we’ll be here for Christmas.

Fun stuff has been going on with my November release, Miss Featherton’s Christmas Prince. She received a 4-star review from Romantic Times.

The Marriage Games series winds down in this last entry that is full of surprises. Victims of a matchmaking godmother and a dowager duchess, Meg and Damon slowly realize they are meant for each other in Quinn’s entertaining novel. Poignant at times, it’s a story to savor by a crackling fire.

And a 4.5 star Top Pick from Night Owl Reviews!

Ella Quinn gifts readers with a lovely historical, holiday romance.

Meg Featherton aims to have a fiancée before the holiday season ends, however she’s convinced after two separate heartbreak that love is not in the cards for her and settles on an amiable man she believes will make a suitable husband. The Marquis of Hawksworth has other plans he wants Meg for himself and he’s determined she’ll fall in love with him. With the help of some allies can Damon win her over?

Hubby and I have been doing a great deal of traveling in the past few weeks. After the Annapolis Sailboat show, I went to the NJ RWA conference, and got to hang out with reader and author friends. Then we started heading south staying in Rhode River, Solomons, Ingram Bay, Deltavilla, and Poquoson until we reached Hampton, VA earlier today.

I apologize for  posting late. We had some interesting seas as we sailed down the Chesapeake Bay to Solomons, Maryland. But, let’s get started! As always, we begin with the winner of Friday’s guest author, Caroline Warfield! Congratulations go to Glenda and Julie Fetter!!

On to book/author news. Sadly, I will be paring down the information on my blog and moving it over to my website. I do have several good reasons for this, the main one being that I have a webmistress, and it’s easier for her to just maintain one site. I will still be blogging on Friday, Sunday, and Monday. The good news is that I’ll be adding stuff to the website, so I hope you’ll stop by. I am also working on increasing my mailing list. My subscriber numbers are abysmally low. Ergo, several of my author friends have agreed to run a contest to help me increase the readers subscribed. It will take place in November after I get back down to the Caribbean. More news on that later.

I finally finished my copy edits for Three Weeks to Wed and am back to working on my novella, A Promise of Love. The novella will be released in a boxset with several other authors. I’m really excited about the novella and the series which I’m calling The Trevors. It’s about the children of a curmudgeonly duke who, unsurprisingly, wants to control his children’s lives. Once I finish it, I’ll post the blurb and an excerpt.

On to boat news. We’ve been in Annapolis for a few days, went down the Rhodes River, and are now in  a  slip at a Navy marina in the Solomons.

Raphaella 3.15Raphaella, having lived with use in Europe, is a seasoned traveler. We’ll see how it goes.

Because I cannot count on having an internet connection to post as usual, I’ve decided to have a contest, so don’t forget to stop by.

Happy Sunday! Let’s start with the winner of Laura Trentham’s book!! Congratulations to Sharon Extine for winning a copy of An Indecent Invitation!!

miss featherton's christmas prince_ebookIn book news, Miss Featherton’s Christmas Prince is on Netgalley for review, and it has already gotten two 5-star reviews!!  I also have a Goodreads contest of sorts going on. If three hundred people click they want to read Miss Featherton’s Christmas Prince, I will post an exclusive excerpt! I’ve been posting this on Facebook for the past few days, so we only need 79 more clicks. I’d love it if you participated. Click here.

And here is the blurb.

Ella Quinn’s wealthy, titled bachelors think they’re immune to romantic notions. Yet no matter how they try to evade it, love somehow finds a way…

In the two seasons since her triumphant debut, Meg Featherton’s heart has been tested to its limits. Her first suitor: a criminal. The second, a cur. For her third act, Meg vows to leave love completely out of the marriage equation. She has set her sights on a newly made viscount whom she could take or leave. However, now she must avoid his handsome, roguish, irresistible best friend like the plague. It’s no easy feat, as they are all attending the same house party…

Damon, Marquis of Hawksworth, cannot imagine why Miss Featherton seems so damn disinterested—or why he cares so terribly much. Certainly Meg is a fine wifely prospect for a man in his position, but more than that, he finds he longs for her as he has never done for another woman. She may be determined to protect her heart, but Damon is equally set on winning her over, one delicious kiss at a time…

I am working on edits for Three Weeks to Wed.  I have been told Three Weeks To Wed reviseI’ll receive the ARCs sometime in December or January.

Currently my publisher has all The Marriage Game book on sale! So if you haven’t read them, or if you’re missing one or two, now is a good chance to pick them up! Links to the books are on my website where they are listed in order.

Happy Sunday!! Let’s start with the winner of Christy Carlyle’s book, One Scandalous Kiss! OSK_Cover Congratulations goes to Barbara Holmes!!

This has been a slow week. After re-provisioning, we left Newport on Friday, sailed down to Judith Point and waited for our departure on Friday. Judith Point, RI

We were up early Friday morning and, after getting a confirmation on our weather window, started sailing south. We had great winds and were able to make the passage in 30 hours instead of 44 hours!! We are now waiting for the tide to turn so that we can sail up to Philadelphia where we’ll spend a couple of days. Philadelphia holds a lot of meaning for me. My mother was born there, and my Brennan and Quinn sides of the family landed there from Ireland. Hubby as never been, so this should be fun for him.

Welcome to Sunday News!! Let’s start with the winner of Liza O’Connor’s book. Congratulations to Laura!!

In a comment a few weeks ago, someone pointed out that Miss Featherton’s Christmas Prince was not due to release until December 22d. That seemed a bit late to me, but I was busy. So I sat on it for a while. Low and behold, when I contacted my editor, the date was immediately changed to November 10th!

Ella Quinn’s wealthy, titled bachelors think they’re immune to romantic notions. Yet no matter how they try to evade it, love somehow finds a way…

This week has been fairly slow. We left Hampton on Tuesday and arrived in Deltaville, VA that afternoon. It was the first time we went from one marina to another. But we had some boat work that needed to be accomplished, and marine repairmen prefer the boat to be at a dock. Here is our view.

Deltaville, VA

It’s been really hot, but if there is a breeze to be had, we get it. I’ve been able to finish the edits my editor sent me and do some writing on the 3d book of the next series. On Tuesday, we will continue our journey north. I had wanted to spend the 4th of July in DC, but Hubby didn’t want to go up the Potomac, back down the Potomac, then up the Chesapeake Bay, and back down the Delaware River. So it looks like we’ll be and a currently unknown location.

Don’t forget to come by tomorrow for Monday Excerpts. I’ll be focusing on secondary characters.

What are you doing for the 4th? And how was your week?

Happy Sunday!!

As we usually, let’s start with the winner of Janis May’s book, Curse of the Exile!! Congratulations to Luanna Stewart!!

In just over a month, Lady Beresford’s Lover releases!! This is book #7 in The Marriage Game and is available for pre-order. You might remember the hero, Rupert, Earl of  Stansted, from The Temptation of Lady Serena. I tried my hardest to get him to wait until he was older, but he insisted he was ready to find his happily ever after.

lady beresford's lover_ebook

Ella Quinn’s bachelors are quite sure of what they want in life—and love—until the right woman opens their eyes…

After a painful heartbreak, Rupert, the handsome young Earl of Stanstead, has decided that when it comes to love, avoidance is best. Until he meets a woman who makes him forget his plan—and remember his longing for a wife and family. Yet he senses that she too has been hurt, though she attempts to hide her feelings—and more—in the most baffling and alluring way. Intrigued, Rupert is willing to play along, if winning her is the prize…

Crushed by her late husband’s scorn, Vivian, Countess of Beresford, believes she is monstrously undesirable. Sadly childless, she has moved to London resigned to a solitary life. Still, when she encounters Rupert at a masquerade ball, her disguise as Cleopatra emboldens her. Convinced he doesn’t recognize her, she begins an after-hours affair with him, always in costume—while allowing him to innocently court the real her by day. But when Rupert makes a shocking choice, will Vivian be able to handle the truth?…

In boating news, we arrived in Hampton, Virginia around 10 PM on Thursday night after rounding Cape Hatteras, NC. Fortunately, we were able to anchor off the university.

The next day we moved to the City Docks where we’ll remain until Tuesday morning.  We’ve been kept busy trying to sort out our electronics. Hubby finally got a new phone, and my computer is in the shop. I hope they can fix it. We’ve also been meeting with friends.

Tuesday morning we set sail to Deltaville, Virginia to get some work on the boat done.
