I did say I’d be late. Let’s start with book winners then I’ll tell you about my crazy week.
The winner of The Seduction of Lady Phoebe is Mystical Manuscripts!
And the winner of Collette Cameron’s The Earl’s Enticement is Isabel!!
Congratulations ladies!
The week began Hubby finding a boat he really, really wanted. We called our broker, and by Sunday afternoon had sent the offer. Several tense hours passed before we received the counter-offer on Monday. We countered that and it was accepted. I had to quickly arrange the boat surveyor for the general survey and the rigging. Hubby couldn’t get off work, so I flew down to Florida for the survey. There ended up being several issues, so the price was re-negotiated, and it’s now in the boatyard getting repaired. Fortunately, the other broker arranged a marina slip for us until we start heading south. There was more scrambling to meet the closing date tomorrow. I finished that this morning.
I arrived back on Thursday to an email from my editor telling me Lady Mary has to be in two weeks earlier than planned, and I’m still editing Lady Beresford’s Lover and the novella. Also, Madeleine’s Christmas Wish releases on October 27th.
I got some work done, but also did a lot of packing.
We are getting a Portuguese Water Dog, and yesterday I went to look at puppies. Their eyes had just opened, and because the mom had so many, they are bottle feeding as well as nursing, and I got to feed the babies.
They are so cute! Here is Mom.
I also got a hicky on my chin because one of them started licking it and then stared nursing on it.
While I was gone, Hubby was supposed to be packing household stuff and getting his clothes packed. As you can see, that did not happen.
Today he went downstairs and the van we rented was gone. Apparently he did not know that it had to be parked in visitor parking, so it was towed. He is on his way to retrieve it as I type this. Oops, he just called. It appears that since I’m on the agreement, I have to go get it.
Habitat for Humanity is coming to pick up furniture and the rest of the stuff that’s not going on the boat. We still have to mail boxes, but they are in the van.
The day is bound to get better. How was your week?
Ella
My week was fantastic!!! I was treated to a new outfit(supposedly due to a wedding we are invited to attend in October). My husband got a new pair of trousers. And then I was SURPRISED on Thursday with a romantic dinner, and flowers (waiting at the restaurant) for our 15th anniversary!!!! I am so blessed!!!! My husband planned all of it without my knowing about it!!! So sneaky of him!!!! I wouldn’t trade him for the world!!! I sincerely hope that everyone has a GREAT week!!! Have fun with your puppy when you get him!!! He is so cute!!! Everyone take care and God bless!!!!!
Lisa, that is fantastic!! I think you’re right! He’s a keeper! Now that we’re out of the apartment and the boat closing is set for tomorrow, we’re good.
you started out well with the puppies, but then it all went to hell. I would be going crazy! I hope the day did get better, because for it to become further worse would require a murder or something. And then you could forget all about the silly van.
It did get better, but not until dinner when we were FINALLY out of the apartment.
Oh I look to be wearing the same shirt as yours, except mine is long sleeve faded pinkish/orange silklike but stretchy fabric.
Mine is plan cotton.
Oh wow that puppy is going to be so cute!
I think so too, Anne!
My life was pretty dull compared to your eventful one, Ella!
Have you heard of the Chinese curse? May you live in interesting times.
Hubby and you sound exactly as my mom and dad, ha! And that puppy is so cute!! Good luck in your new endeavors!
LOL, it’s the long marriage. We’re closing in on 31 years.
What an adorable puppy!!! Congrats on the puppy and the boat! Good luck getting everything done!
